The night’s sleep was restless because of the many giant spiders & very active wildlife.

In the west, we are a bold bunch, but a spider or rodent can make a pansy out of some of the toughest Americans (you know you hate spiders)!

Our teammates all crawled inside their sleeping bag liners and zipped it up to where there was only a hole for breathing – despite the heat.

Not I. I didn’t want to take a chance of a spider getting in the liner with me.

We slept, sorta, and woke the next morning uneaten. The hardest part was that with every sound there was an abundance of flopping, and jumping, and insulting the rats and spiders. Hah

It was hilarious!

To give a few of the team mates a much needed break, we split the next morning. Frank (who I think must be 1/5 Nepali because of the way he climbs the mountains), myself, Lako, and our sister Smriti, all hiked two hours up to another village to encourage the believers.

This church was rebuilt after the quake and is still open air. Personally, I like it like this, but in winter it can be very cold, so they are believing to finish the building.

This morning I preached my life’s message – Hasten. I taught how the return of Christ will only come after the completion of the Great Commission and how the Father is waiting on souls to be saved to send Jesus back (Matthew 24 – 2 Peter 3).

During the message I asked how much weight each person could carry. I was floored when I found out that the strongest man in there could carry 95 kilos (210 lbs!!!) up the sides of the mountains. Amazing. Then I explained how hard it was for me and how I could hardly carry my own bag.

“God has made each of us for our calling. I can never take the Gospel to all these unreached villages, but you can! You are made for this purpose! We need you! You can help HASTEN the day of the Lord! You are vital!”

That day many responded to the message, asking God to use them to carry the cross to the mountains. After, we prayed for the sick, and those we prayed for told us that the Lord had healed them that day of some small ailments.

After spending hours with these precious believers, we ate a standard Nepali lunch (Dhal Baht – Rice and Dhal) and headed back down the mountain to prepare for another day of spreading the love of Jesus and encouraging our remote family.

Just like the Nepali believers, please know that God has called you to YOUR world to spread the love of Jesus. Each of us are different, and God wants to use each of us to spread the Gospel in a billion different ways.

Remember this: your desires often hint to your destiny. Your skills are the strengths you have to love the Lord with. Your money, your influence, your business, all of it has its place in spreading the Kingdom of love and light of Jesus all over the world.

You do not have to be a preacher. Maybe you should be an artist. A teacher. A mother of the motherless. A father to the fatherless.

There is a reserved space for you in the work of the Great Commission. Only you can fill that space at this time in your place. Never feel that your contributions to the Gospel are too small to matter.

You matter.

Lord, show us how we fit.

Help us to see beyond what we have seen already, but give us your eyes to see our gifts and strengths.

Show us the glory you put inside us as your sons and daughters.

Help us know how to serve you with what you’ve given us and what we have already.

Help me to be faithful with where I am now with what I have now.

Here am I, send me.

Show me how to promote the Kingdom with my life in the way you made for ME to do so.

Have an awesome day![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
