We are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (ESV)

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

We are to live daily in our personal life in the same way the temple was operated.

  • We’ve covered how we prepare to seek God. The altar. The lavar.
  • Now, let’s go into the place where we encounter and commune with Him.
  • We enter the Holy Place.

The layout of the Holy Place.

Table of Shewbread (JESUS!) – Communion (spending quality time) with God and His Word

Exodus 25:30 (ESV) 30 And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly.

The table speaks of communion, relationship with God.

The Bread Speaks of the Word of God. Which is Jesus!

John 6:32-35 (ESV) 32 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

It’s called the bread of the presence because it is made Holy Because of the presence of God. We are to feast upon the Word of God daily while in the presence of God!

Matthew 4:4 (ESV) 4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

The lampstand (Holy Spirit!) – fellowship with the Holy Spirit, surrender and yielding to His spirit,

The Lampstand speaks of the Holy Spirit, the seven spirits of God from Isa 11. It also speaks of the church, united as one with the Holy Spirit. United as one with Jesus. This is where we pray and commune and worship in the Spirit until there is such a filling, surrender and union that we feel totally connected with God.

Isaiah 11:1-2 (ESV) 1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse,

and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. 2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might,

the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

Revelation 1:20 – 2:1 (ESV) 20 As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. 1 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

Revelation 3:1 (ESV) 1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. “‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

Revelation 4:5 (ESV) 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,

Altar of Incense – DAILY Worship, Prayer, Intercession

This is where Zachariah met Gabriel. (Luke 1)

Revelation 5:8 (ESV) 8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Revelation 8:3-4 (ESV) 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, 4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel.

The Veil – Separation for our Protection

Matthew 27:50-53 (ESV) 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. 51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

The Veil was Ripped! So there is no longer two rooms, but ONE.

The Ark and the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies (The Father!) – Deep Communion where God Speaks to You

Exodus 25:21-22 (ESV) 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

Hebrews 4:16 (ESV) 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

This is where we hear God call us. This is where we receive the call of the Lord.

1 Samuel 3:3-4 (ESV) 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was.4 Then the LORD called Samuel…

This is where we meet with God as Moses met with God. This is a deep place.

Exodus 33:7-11 (ESV) 7 Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the LORD would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. 8 Whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up, and each would stand at his tent door, and watch Moses until he had gone into the tent. 9 When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses. 10 And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, each at his tent door. 11 Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

This is where we are equipped. This is our Senai, our mount of transfiguration, where our countenance is changed into the glory of God.

Let’s go in there today.

Let’s go deep. Let’s worship.
